Schooner Aurora – ALL SAILS DISCONTINUED FOR THE 2023 SEASON

We regret to inform you that the Schooner Aurora, operated by The Newport Experience, was hit by another vessel on the water on Wednesday, June 28th. We want to assure you that no injuries were reported during the incident. However, due to safety protocols and regulations, we are unable to resume sailing until a comprehensive inspection by the Coast Guard has been completed.

The safety and well-being of our crew and passengers are our utmost priority. As a result, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that the Schooner Aurora undergoes a thorough assessment to guarantee its seaworthiness. We are working closely with the Coast Guard to expedite the inspection process and to project a timeline for repairs. We will be reaching out to all affected parties individually.

During this time, all scheduled events and bookings will be temporarily suspended. We understand this may cause inconvenience for those who have made reservations or were planning to embark on an unforgettable journey with us. We deeply apologize for any disruption this may cause, and we assure you that our team is actively working to accommodate affected customers by offering refunds, rescheduling options, or alternative arrangements.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support during this challenging period. The Schooner Aurora has a long-standing history of providing exceptional experiences on the water, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and service. Our team will keep you informed of any updates regarding the inspection process, and we will strive to minimize the impact of our valued customers.

The BEST way to see the City by the Sea this summer….our Lobster Boil + Sunset Sail provides the quintessential Newport evening. Enjoy a dockside, lobster dinner before boarding the Aurora; then sit back and relax as you cruise through Narragansett Bay. Dinner includes fresh, local 1 ¼ lb lobster and corn on the cob, mussels, roasted potatoes, corn bread, or your choice of BBQ chicken.

Back by popular demand! Perfect for “date night” or a fun evening out with friends or family. Join us on Monday evenings as we set sail from Goat Island for a relaxing Wine + Cheese Sail. Bring your favorite bottle of wine and board the Aurora to celebrate summer with a sail around the bay. Enjoy yummy gourmet cheeses, crackers, and fruit on board.

LOBSTER LUNCH SAIL

Set sail on a scenic, lunchtime escape aboard the historic Schooner Aurora, where sea breezes and coastal views pair perfectly with a classic New England lunch. Cruise through Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay on this relaxing two-hour sail.

Choose from a delicious selection of boxed lunches: Lobster Roll, Chicken Salad Sandwich or Caprese Sandwich
Each served with chips, fresh fruit, and a sweet treat.

Stone House

Stone House is the newest addition to the Newport Experience collection and is located in the exclusive, seaside community of Little Compton, RI. It features 14 guest rooms, a renovated bar featuring functions space, an onsite restaurant and a fire pit. This venue is perfect for smaller meetings or events up to 40 guests.

The capacity of the boat is 68 passengers and food and beverage can be served on board. It has a spacious, open deck plan with ample seating for all guests.
