Every detail has been thought through, from the creatively curated “lending library” to the 4pm wine bar with a selection of delicious cheeses to the “free’’ breakfast with an extensive array of home-baked pastries, yogurt, eggs, and more.”

Thank you Newport Life Magazine for featuring our ‘Aesop’ mocktail!

“The biggest trend in bar menus in recent years is the addition of alcohol-free cocktails. Colorful, creative and zero proof, mocktails are as alluring as their spirits-infused counterparts. But these buzz-free bevvies let you sip all day and remain ready to play. ”

Litchfield Distillery recently stopped by The Safari Room at OceanCliff to chat with restaurant manager, Reagan Nicole, and sample our new fall cocktail the Cocoa Maple Old Fashioned as part of their Mixology Spirit series. “The addition of Dark Creme de Cacao and Cocoa Bitters adds a subtle layer of chocolate flavor, while creating a velvety-smooth mouthfeel. If you love Old Fashioneds, this is a nice, simple spin on the classic recipe—one we think is especially good for the fall and holiday seasons.”

Event industry professionals Paige Zuber and Michael Weishaus of North Providence participated in a mock wedding presented by the Rhode Island Coalition of Wedding and Event Professionals on Tuesday at OceanCliff.

“The biggest thing is keeping people safe, but letting people be able to celebrate again, and also putting people back to work,” said Luke Renchan, a spokesman for The Rhode Island Coalition of Wedding and Event Professionals. “Some of these couples have postponed their wedding three times because of a lot of these heavy restrictions. It’s just a matter of showing what we can do to keep people safe and keep them in a structured environment.”

“The mock wedding mimicked a real event, but before it all started, guests and vendors received a rapid BinaxNOW COVID-19 test, waited in their cars and got the results by text. The coalition partnered with the Rhode Island Commerce to record the mock wedding so it can be given to other venues to show how to host an event safely during a pandemic.

On your daycation, be sure to stick around to catch a sunset. My top location is the OceanCliff Hotel. True to its name, you can see the Atlantic and the Newport Bridge with sail boats floating by from the property’s rolling hills. It’s a picture-perfect end to a picture-perfect day.
