Located on 10 acres of rolling lawns with spectacular ocean views, OceanCliff is the site of the former Bronson Villa. Owned by Arthur Bronson of New York, the Villa was built in 1864 by the architectural firm Peabody & Stearns from Boston who designed the original Breakers and Doris Duke’s Rough Point, both located on elegant Bellevue Avenue. OceanCliff was used as a summer residence by the Bronsons for several seasons.

The estate was then sold to Mr. Gaun M. Hutton, a wealthy industrialist who built the Trans-Siberian railroad in Russia for Czar Nicholas. Mr. Hutton and his wife razed the original wooden structure, and construction began on the new estate in 1892. The estate remained a private summer home until 1954, when it was sold by the Hutton family and later converted into an oceanfront retreat to host lavish parties and society affairs..

Set amidst the breathtaking splendor of the Narragansett Bay, OceanCliff has inspired generations of brides with some of the most enchanting landscapes in Newport, Rhode Island.

The deck is covered with a 40×60 tent and is a popular spot for casual lobster boils and oceanfront cookouts. The OceanCliff Upper Deck seats up to 150 guests and offers sweeping views of Narragansett Bay and the Newport Bridge.

Safari Room Restaurant

Upscale and exclusive, the Safari Room is our signature restaurant at the OceanCliff Hotel. Specializing in world-class cuisine and exceptional service, a rehearsal dinner in the Safari Room is the perfect complement to your Newport wedding. The Safari Room comfortably seats up to 50 guests.

Regatta Place

Remotely located on beautiful Goat Island, a short distance from the Newport Hyatt, the Regatta Place offers relaxed, waterfront dining in the heart of Newport Harbor and a variety of options for your rehearsal dinner. Our dockside covered patio seats up to 180 people or can accommodate up to 250 for cocktails. Include a sunset sail for the perfect start to your wedding weekend.

Schooner Aurora

Coupled with a lobster boil at the Regatta Place, a rehearsal dinner aboard the Schooner Aurora is the perfect way to get your out of town guests on the water! Aboard our tall ship, your Newport wedding will be truly unforgettable! The Aurora accommodates up to 68 of your family and friends and food and beverage can be served on board.
